I decided that since Laura and Bob were going to do research today I would too. So I headed for the Museum of Science and Industry in Parc de la Villette. It blew me away - can't think of a science museum that compares. It's celebrating its 10 year anniversary and all the exhibits look fresh. The place is enormous. The only low point in the visit was when I realized that I'd left my glasses under my seat in the "geode" (a 180 degree IMAX theater). I was able to retrieve them but I was sweating for a while. The IMAX movie they have now is called "Living Sea." Some beautiful footage of the Palau Islands. Where are they? This is the only place where you can actually see the IMAX projector, reels and machinery. It's set up so that you see it as you're leaving the theater.
Finished the roll of color film in my camera and began loading up with black and white.
After the museum I went to the Cemetery Pere-Lachaise to hang out with the dead people. It appears to be the hottest pick-up spot in Paris. Especially if you walk around without a map - you can ask anyone where to find one the numerous dead celebs. I didn't have enough time to really locate any of the specific graves - it's really confusing and I didn't have a map. Despite that, several guys tried to ask me for directions. Hmmm. I did manage to stumble over Moliere's grave.
After the cemetery closed, I stopped for an Orangina nearby and then went to meet Laura and Bob. I've discovered the only way to get rid of small change here is to give it to musicians on the street. I'm actively looking for a way to get rid of this change.
Met Laura and Bob by St. Michel and had dinner at a Greek-like couscous place. Walked around La Cite and got some ice-cream. I'm becoming an aficionado of pear sorbet (poire).
